  • As judge, he will work toward the improvement and timely replacement of the courthouse. He will help the court prepare for emerging legal issues important to the City of New Orleans.

Vision For the Court

David Jefferson Dye is running for District Judge for the opportunity to improve public confidence in the Civil District Court and to improve the courthouse for all people.  Every person deserves to be treated equally under the law by judges who correctly interpret facts and apply the law to promote justice. His vision for the Court includes experienced and dedicated judges and functional court facilities that are clean, bright, and safe. Our collective futures depend upon access to justice and facilities that represent the vital role the Court plays in the lives of every person, organization and business in Orleans Parish.

As District Judge, he will work diligently every day to fulfill this vision and to ensure the courtroom operates efficiently and professionally with the utmost respect for all parties, attorneys, and witnesses. He will be prepared and consistent and will make unbiased decisions based upon the applicable law, admissible evidence, and the rules of court.

He has the qualifications and motivation to assist the court in meeting its current and future challenges, including courthouse upgrades and emerging legal issues critical to the future of New Orleans. At all times, he will operate the courtroom with a commitment to excellence and equal treatment for all parties.
